Cheering up the Cold Weather

Fake flowers I think from Michael's several years ago now; they allow me to have patience for Spring.

Another pic of my blanket before it was finished; the colors are truer in this one.

Here's to warm blankets and lots of fun projects and books to curl up with.
I hope the weather either warms up or gets sunny again. : )

Egyptian Necklace Reworked

I finally restrung this using thread so that all the poky metal bits are gone. I had to string it about three times before the bead count was right and once the thread broke. I really like how this fits though it took hours to string. I made this necklace back in 2009 but didn't really wear it. I love how heavy this is but it'll take a while before I make another so complicated.

First Rose Sock Finished!

Gizmo decided that if I had the camera out that the only thing to get its picture taken was going to be him.

I love this sock I don't know if I'll be able to wear it; I rather want to hang it up and look at its nice bright colors. (Red Heart's Heart & Sole with Aloe -Antique Rose)

New Rose Socks

Mom made an easter egg out of this yarn and gave the rest to me for socks. I haven't taken a picture before because I was having too much fun knitting it. : ) It's Red Heart's Heart & Sole with Aloe in Antique Rose. I used their sock pattern and it really turned out nice without messing up the striping; Mom plans to make some of her own so we'll see if they mess up in her size.

Origami Cranes

With Spring so far away I've been working on lots of colorful projects. I whipped this up last night and figured out it took me about 4 minutes to finish a crane.
My librarian in middle school wanted to create a thousand of them for a display so all the kids who helped out would sit during lunch and just fold cranes. I haven't been able to forget since. They're also really pretty when you use white paper.

Cold weather

With all the cold weather I've been knitting and watching NOVA programs on my computer under as many blankets and layers as possible. Hope everyone is staying warm.

Pic from before I finished my blanket; Gizzy loves it and dances when he sees me pulling it out. He's all excited here because I pulled out  my camera : )

Easter Socks

I'm surprised how fast these knit up though the lack of elasticity in the cotton is frustrating. I've decided its like knitting kite string. On the last sock I only have the foot and toe to go; hopefully I'll be starting a new pair of socks tomorrow...
