The Northern Lights Shawl is DONE!

It's done and feels like wearing a warm cobweb
It turns out I started this project last September!

Blocking was soo easy I loved it after the hours it took for me to block my Feather & Fan Shawl

It's really long so getting a picture of the whole length was tricky

I love how the edging is formed by knitting the WS rows

I love how it looks like stained glass in the Sun

The wind wasn't helping...

The pattern is orginally Finnish but luckily the designer, AnneM, has an English translation and it's free : )
I used a Knitpicks laceweight; I think it's Shimmer but I bought it without a ballband. One skein. Size 5 needles. Oodles of time & post-its.

Think Pink's Are Done!

I love how the striping matched up on both socks : )

Once again they're Knitpicks Felici Fingering Weight colorway: Mixed Berries on size 2 needles.
A little late for this year's Valentine's but maybe for Next Year?

Scrap Sock Yarn Update 7x7!

It's getting so big getting it into one shot is kind of difficult.

I love how heavy it's getting...
Now to get to 8x8...

I can't believe the weather we've had higher than 80 degrees F!
I love going on walks now that everything is waking up : )

March Socks

With the knot I just found it looks like my socks will take longer than expected.
I think I'll put these down for a while until I get the courage to cut off the yarn which doesn't match up to the beginning of the repeat.
Hopefully I'll still have enough for my sock...

Clover Bee

Finally I have a photo where Clover isn't blurry.
Most of the time she's very snuggly and loves to hop around on our porch.

She's very possessive about her pine cones.
She always checks them over if one is moved around and throws them around a bit until they're moved to her satisfaction.

With the cold weather we put ceramic bowls with lukewarm water in the hutch for overnight water and change out to water bottles in the morning. Both bunnies come right over when they see us coming.

Northern Lights Shawl Progress

Bet you forgot all about this project.
It takes a little over an hour for one row but I only have about fourteen and the bind-off/blocking to do. I'm so excited.

By the way I'm still working on my granny square blanket and my scrap sock yarn blanket and finishing up my Pretty Pink socks and a kumihimo anklet and and; well I'll show you as each one finishes/the sun comes out.
Hope all your projects are going well...

Cinnamon Bun

Hi

My pine cones...

That board stays down..

Are you going to do it again?

Ha and now you can't put it up again...

Silly rabbit pictures; both Cinnamon Bun and Clover are loving the sun and warmer weather. They're just over one year old : )

Celtic Stitch Markers

I really have to be careful when I find beads which I can make into stitch markers... I ended up making 6 sets of four. I need more supplies to make more but I love the almost instant gratification these give.

Knitter's Mitts

I wanted to create a pair of fingerless mitts so I could still knit and stay warm.
I had one skein of Knitpicks' Imagination colorway Loch Ness and I was able to knit both mitts and still have yarn left over.

My pattern knit on US size 2 dpn's.

Feather & Fan Shawl!

I love this shawl.
It took over 6 hours to block; mostly because I use loads of pins and I keep seeing areas I need to re-pin.

This is the free Multnomah pattern by Hello Knitty.
I knit this on a US size 3 needles and did an extra feather & fan pattern repeat to an increase.
It used two balls and a bit of a third of Jojoland Melody 100% superwash wool colorway MS43.

I love the color changes of this yarn and how it never exactly repeated. I'm severely tempted to get a different colorway of the same Jojoland Melody and knit another Multnomah shawl... we'll see : )

Pretty in Pinks

I don't know if you remember but when I got the yarn for my Feather & Fan Shawl I bought 4 balls of Jojoland Melody 100% Superwash; colorway M543. I love this yarn and both of these projects just zoomed along.
Note: Wow I just realized I never posted my finished Multnomah by Hello Knitty. I actually finished this late on Christmas Eve so stay tuned for the pics...

This is a cowl/wrap which I designed and my first attempt at using circular needles for an actually circular project. I was really pleased with how this turned out although I could probably block the edges again to get rid of a blocking ridge.
