Slowly Spinning

I'm still slowly spinning this is approximately 3 oz...

Right now I'm liking the color of the blue the best but we'll see how well it plys up... This is Knitpicks Wool of the Andes Roving colorways: Amethyst and Sapphire Heathers.

I saved up for a wheel of my own and chose a Kromski Minstrel.
I've already spun over two ounces and I think I'm getting a feel for it. More pictures will be coming once it stops raining.
Figuring out how to put it together took longer than I expected; although Gizzy was excited to be part of the process...

Sleigh Rides...

Happy Holidays!
Hope you stay warm and have snow flurries...

Twin Leaf Scarf Progress

I'm still slowly working on this but it's slow going looking at the pattern every other row. If you would like pattern details you can get them at my previous post here; the yarn is Tahki Stacy Charles Superior in colorway: Bubblegum.
I'm knitting it on size 6's circulars so I can slide the stitches onto the cable when I'm not knitting without worrying about dropping a stitch; and because they're lighter than my straights.

Blue Haven Shawlette

I'm trying out another new yarn and pattern; this is 198 Yards of Heaven by Christy Verity; a free Ravelry download.
I am loving the simplicity and texture of this yarn....

It's Mini Mochi by Crystal Palace Yarns, colorway: Jenny Lake.
I knit with another of their yarn lines Sausalito for my Good Luck cowl and it was like knitting butter too...

Dragon Scales Cowl

I still have trouble with 100 stitches in a lace pattern on three needles; I had to rip out 5 repeats after the beginning garter which wasn't fun...

Blocking does wonders....

This is yet another Good Luck Cowl by Christianne Gerstner, a free pattern on Ravelry. This was knit on size 5's with Paton's Kroy Socks FX colorway: Cadet Colors (57110).

8 x 8 Scrap Sock Yarn Blanket

Slowly coming along on my size 3's....

Granny Stripe Progress

Very slow progress on this but I'm enjoying the buildup of color...

Owl Project Bag

Made this project bag from half of a kerchief from Walmart. I still need to sew two for Em and one more for me once the sewing machine works again. I actually finished this closer to Halloween but camera/lighting haven't cooperated since.

Buckeye Technologic Shawl

Weaving in all the ends from all the color changes was worth it : )

I finished my Buckeye Technologic Shawl by Amy Castillo; the pattern is $3.00 US on Ravelry.

I loved the yarn for this as well; it's a very delicate laceweight merino so I had to be a little careful about pulling too tightly.
This was knit on size 5's with Nirvana; colorways dove grey (17) and crimson (12).

Rosy Mittens

Now that it's getting cold I need mittens and I thought I'd celebrate with one of my favorite colorways of Heart and Sole by Red Heart; Antique Rose. These are knit on size 2's and using my mitten pattern on size 2's.

Traveling Woman

I finished my Traveling Woman shawl by Liz Abinante which was a joy to knit.

I used the free version on Ravelry but a pay version of the pattern is available too. I did a few more pattern repeats than is called for and it's a good thing I didn't do any more because I definitely would have run out of yarn.

This was knit on size 6 needles, with the wonderful Araucania, Huasco colorway 3.

Stonewash is Discontinued...

Just wanted to warn you that Knitpicks is discontinueing its Stonewashed colorway; I found it on Cyber-Monday and grabbed enough for a large shawl and a cowl...
