Morning Glory Sweater Progress

I got the new edition of Jane Austen KNITS and I can't wait to knit some of the projects. I want to have at least one of my inprog's done before I cast on more though...

Two sleeves and 6.5" of a back...
 7.5" until the armhole shaping.
This is the stockingette that never ends...

I do love the smell of these roses and how full they are : )

Tall Glass of Water Socks

I'm rationing myself with these because they just zoom along.
This is Red Heart's Heart & Sole colorway Faded Jeans.
Once again I knit socks on size 2 needles.

Walks

I can't wait for our butterfly bushes to bloom : )

This is a climbing rose which we have a start of...

Honeysuckle...

Wild rose along the road...

Wild Day Lily.
Apparently the deer don't like this variety : )

Finished!

I added a picot edge once I was finished with my shawl! and I really like how it turned out.

It turns out with one ball of Ty-Dy Socks by KNIT ONE crochet too you can create a nice day shawl.

This is my pattern and it was very easy to memorize once I set up the basic premise.

As I write up the pattern, I might make another one... : )
I think I'll make this a freebie up by my header like my edging and dust bunnies. It depends on how much translation from my short hand into sensible directions I'll have to do.

I did pin every picot edge which was a bit of a pain but as it turns out very worth it.

Garden Blooms

Bee Balm is going crazy I can't believe we just had a few plants last year.

Our black raspberries are ripe but are a little small from the lack of rain.

Mom's Crimson Pirate Daylily is in bloom and looks nice : )

I'm not sure what this day lily is but it has lots of small cute blooms.

Red Raspberries are ripe but something keeps eating the almost ripe berries....

Our snow peas are doing well; although our peppers and tomatoes are not liking the lack of rain.
Our lettuce and spinach are thriving and I think we'll soon have to start feeding some to the rabbits.

Southwest Mittens

I'm not entirely sure I like this colorway.
The yellow is a bit neon to say the least but I think part of the problem is that this is Knitpicks' Felici Sport and I'm knitting it on size 2 needles.

Schnormeier Gardens

This past weekend we visited the Schnormeier Gardens.
I think my favorite part was all the water gardens.

Lots of interesting deciduous plants and stream features.

I couldn't get an elegant picture of the Black Swan... : )

I really liked the waterlilies : )

In the background you can see some of the people which were there...

A knocker on one of the Japanese Tea Houses

I have to admit the fish in the ponds startled me several times as they would jump out of the water while I was close taking pictures of the water lilies.

Yarn Bombing

Happy Belated Knitting in Public Day!
I was really excited when I saw actual yarnbombing : )

Jellyfish... Not Really

I've always thought these flowers look a bit like jellyfish or some kind of ballerina... Ours look pretty hanging from a branch off one of our dogwoods.

Cookouts & Tents

It's a little early for s'mores and week end camping but pretty soon we'll have to air out the tent.
I think I know where all the pieces of the hammock are....

Wintered Over

All the geranium stalks but one survived and are starting to look like they're going to bloom which is very exciting...

Love all the variations of lillies there are and I can't wait for our pink speckled ones to bloom too...

Sophie Cat

Our neighborhood cat, Miss Sophie is warming up to us and is very interested in our front garden.
That's her under the bleeding heart, pinks, and beside the black-eyed susans.

Flax

Can you believe the rotten stems of these are what is spun to make linen?

I love how variable the colors of blue are.
I think it would look lovely mixed with other wildflowers.

I'm Sensing a Theme

The brat heard my camera ding

He sneezes and looks hopeful while dancing about and it turns out that the rug isn't heavy enough not to slide... but it can be thrown in the washer because I used two balls each of red, pink, and blue dishcloth worsted weight cotton.

Peonies

Close-up of a Sarah Bernhardt Peony

Same : )

Lovely deep pink

We actually have two clusters of these and I have no idea what they're called but they smell wonderfully

New Rug

I got tired of woodfloors and I figured I could use up my cotton worsted stash to make a rug for my room.

When Gizzy's excited he likes to skid across the floor and usually the rug ends up in a heap. If he feels excited enough he will do this repeatedly.
This is why I got rid of my last rug.
Hopefully this will be heavy enough he won't be able to move it.

I'm actually loosely following Crochet with Raymond's free Granny Mandala pattern and I'll add my crochet edging at the end.
