Feather & Fan Scarf

You'd never guess he was on the other side of the house before he heard me turn on my camera.

I can't believe I started this yesterday and have gotten this far.
I've been wanting to try out the feather & fan pattern for quite a while now.

I have a feeling this will look lots better once it's blocked; but in the meantime I'm loving the quick color changes. The pattern is free by Tiennie & can be found HERE.
The official name for the pattern is Old Shale Scarf.
The yarn I'm using is a favorite; Patons' Kroy colorway Blue Striped Ragg.
I used this for my Nautical Socks.

Brownware Socks

I'm sensing a brown theme; it must be the Fall weather. These are going to be Dad's.
He found the socks I made him for Christmas last year a little loose so these are 68sts instead of 72.
Once again knit on size 3s I hope these don't turn into Black Holes too.
These are Red Heart's Heart & Sole colorway: Toasted Almond.

Buckeye Socks

I was dragging my feet to finish these; the neutrals were not very exciting.
They are Patons' Kroy sock yarn colorway: Grey Brown Ragg. It was interesting that the two balls I had the colors of the stripes are in different orders; brown and charcoal were switched. These were knit on size 3s just in time to be worn in the cold snap we're having.

Chestnuts

Our Chestnuts trees have started dropping with a vengeance.
This is our front porch where we're leaving them to dry.
I have no idea what we'll do with them all...

5x5 Sock Yarn Remnant Blanket

I've finished another set of rows on the blanket.
It's beginning to actually cover my lap which is exciting; but I still have lots of yarn left so it's still a WIP : )

New Shawl...

Another new large project : )
This is a free pattern for a Northern Lights shawl.
Luckily the designer, AnneM, has an English translation.
I'm using a Knitpicks laceweight; I think it's Shimmer but I bought it without its ballband.

Distractions

I was planning on finishing my second Buckeye sock but I got distracted...
(Back to Front: My sock yarn blanket, a kumihimo braid, & embroidery)

These were shown in the magazine Molly Makes in an older issue but you can still find the templates online HERE.

This is probably around fullsize.
I've got two others just waiting for me to sew & a few others I have my eye on...

Basil

Can you believe this was just a small plant this spring?
It's at least to my hips

Doll Auction

Mom & I went to a doll auction a little while ago.
We were able to take pictures of some of our favorites...

This is a little tree that was in a doll house which might be fun to find a tutorial for...

Walks, Chestnuts, & Spinning

From all the wetness mushrooms are sprouting everywhere.
It's very distracting now that we're gathering chestnuts.

Still taking walks while we can;
I need to take more Fall shots now that it's becoming sweater weather.

I love sunflowers in the afternoon sun.

Still spinning & I have some new projects to show you once I get out my camera...

Spinning

This is what my single handspun looked like before I plied it...

It's not very much yarn at all and I actually unwound the twist with one of the singles but I have high hopes for the single that is currently on my spindle.

As a side note I made a new header!
