Doll & Gourds

My crochet doll pattern & dress in worsted and sport weight respectively.

Here's a test of my pattern in fingering weight yarn. It took some doing to figure out a diaper that I was happy with. The difference in size is about an inch, I don't want to even think about how to change the dress pattern to keep the weight of the yarn the same but to have a similar look as the worsted doll... At any rate I'm very pleased with how she turned out.

The gourds in theback of her were grown in our garden.

Heron

Here's to days full of water fun before it gets too cold.

Sherbet Socks

I've completed my summer socks, the colorway is Garden Gate from Knitpicks but the colors remind me more of rainbow sherbet. I really liked how this yarn felt while knitting up, though the difference in color size bugged me a bit.

Shawl

My shawl is slowly inching its way bigger; I used a size 3 needle instead of the suggested 6 so I have knit to the final repeat of Beyenburgerin's completed shawl but mine is a much smaller size.
The actual shawl color is a mix of these two photos the light was wonky. That small ball is about the size of a large jawbreaker, compared to its start at the size of a softball.

All my design...

Kumihimo

I recently discovered the round loom of kumihimo and I've enjoyed making various color combos...

Crocus Socks

Mine are to the right, I only had a few inches left after all the socks were made.

Chestnuts

Our chestnuts came into season about four weeks ago and this is what is left after a large roasting and lots given away. Unfortunately we found worms today and had to throw the rest out.

Caterpillars

Monarch caterpillars in our local park.

Discovered this little guy while we were gardening. At first we thought he was a monarch but discovered he's actually a black swallowtail caterpillar...

On a side note we have cherry tomatoes and green beans stacking up faster than we can eat them. Next year I think we should have fewer plants...
