New Socks

*Pictures are planned; all photos have come out horribly*

Well I finished my second sock, learned the kitchner stitch and decided I didn't like how my first sock fit so I ripped back to the foot and added on quite a few rows; which I just finished re-knitting.

Pagoda

Mom wouldn't let me leave the craft store with this unfinished wooden pagoda. As you can see I've already started to paint it though lots and lots of detail needs to be added. The plan is to use this in a backdrop with my kokeshi.

Columbus Zoo Visit

Went to the zoo on Friday and enjoyed seeing some of the animals. The trick is to remember you're going to be walking around and as such need a light purse...

Raccoons

Dad's corn is still small but we've been seeing a surprising number of raccoons around lately. I saw three on an afternoon when we were camping in the backyard and Dad spotted these little guys a couple of days ago. They're in the V of the branches in the large tree.

Baby Birds

When we went canoeing I discovered this nest over the light in the women's restroom. So cute. Their parents were swooping over the water.

Bamboo Granny Squares

I've looked at this yarn before but hesitated because of its shine. It's really different to work with a yarn that doesn't hold onto itself or stretch. Unfortunately the colors don't really translate well to photos.

Crocus Socks

I'm starting another pairr of socks, this time I'm going up a needle size (4) and it has nylon in the yarn so it will be an experiment. Mom was teasing me about my socks asking if they would hold water because of my tight tension.

Note: I'm still working on granny squares but the progress is slow. I feel that they should be able to be crocheted just from thinking about them... it's not working too well

2nd Sock In-Progress

Group Moccasins

Some moccasins I've made using Mom's moccasin pattern...

Second Sock

As of right now this is about how far I've gotten on my second sock; I've been too busy sewing moccasins...

Doll Progress

Just some minor adjustments...

Wisteria Nest

The robin is at the highly nervous portion of his nestbuilding, he suddenly flies out of the bushes whenever we leave the front door scaring me every time.

A Larger Moccasin

I had fun creating a moccasin from Mom's experimental pattern for her doll.
In comparison my doll's shoes are about half the size of this shoe.

Cherry Picking

Had fun picking cherries and ate a cherry crisp; here's to hoping for a cherry pie. : )

Doll

I only have her belt and pouches to create!
I'm really enjoying creating all of the various pieces, though I get nervous after I finish all the beading because I won't know until they're sewn if the piece will fit.

Black Raspberries

Our black raspberries are becoming ripe ever so slowly. : )

Summer Camp 2010

Our Summer Camp for the summer has started and Mom & I are working on making dolls; while Em made a leather pouch. I still need to take a photo of hers. This is day one's progress. : ) I wanted to leap right into making the beaded dress but realized that my dress probably wouldn't fit my doll if I didn't start her first. My fingers are sore from trying to sew the leather. Mom's doll has been tea died which I will probably do with my doll though I'll be brushing rather than dunking the pieces.

Sock

I've finally finished my first sock; I outsmarted myself once I finished the gusset and rearranged the stitches which I discovered messed up the toe decreases so I had to rip back 13-14 rows. The gusset also took extra time because some stitches dropped so I had to rip back around 3 1/2 rows (the gusset is where there are the most stitches; around 90 in the beginning) .
