Roses

Red roses are blooming near our doorstep and are beautiful when cut. I only wish I was brave enough to draw them as my camera refuses to focus well on them or it dampens the lighting to nonexistent... grr Blogger is being difficult and won't recognize different paragraphs I think I'll just have to try to change it later.

After a break due to the move I've sporatically been painting kokeshi inspired wooden dolls again, though the lack of a true chair and desk have slowed the production.

Wet Paint

Still no chance for hanging frames from the walls because the paint is still 'curing' in the meantime I have stacks of papers waiting to be hung on my bulletin board as well as magnets for my as yet unfound whiteboard. I'm especially impatient to hang my cookoo clock as that will mean I'm finally settled in.

At some point we'll also have to return to the storage unit to retrieve our books! I can hardly wait. At the moment I'm confined to eight books but I'm just itching to dive into the rest... :)

A Brief Stay

While we were waiting for our new house to be ready for occupation, and for our moving truck to arrive, we rented out a cabin for the week which was nice, Gizmo especially liked it because he was able to be in a "house" again. I took this pic when I was left without a key for several hours, our cells didn't have coverage in the area which was a moot point because I didn't have a cell and thus didn't know the numbers to call at the pay phone even if I could get away from the cabins... As you can guess I was pretty happy when everyone came back.

New House

Awesome photo of our new house we've been seeing an average of at least three deer every week.

We've Finally Moved, old news I know

Our moving truck as I took some last pictures of our yard and just generally tried to stay out of the way :)

A budding Sarah Bernhardt peony, we planted this especially for Mom and this was the first year it actually bloomed...

Effigy Mound National Monument

A few nice pictures taken back in the beginning of May;
Moving has been so hectic my photos only recently became downloaded :D

There was practically a whole field of may apples in the park; it was so pretty. We had a fun time trying to identify some of the plants and wildflowers we saw there, it also distracted Emily from the hills we were trecking.
