Crochet & Embroidered Matroyshka

Not sure I really liked the way this turned out, the embroidering of the face in particular was hard, probably because I'm not good at the really petite dexterous work, but it was a fun piece to work on and I found out it is suprisingly easy to add to crochet providing you are using yarn and not thread gack sewing on the face was.... lets call it interesting. I think it was a mistake to use white, probably a baby blue would look better.. hmm now I'm going to have to try that out...

Yet Another Necklace

You can never have enough necklaces, and surprisingly this is a fairly easy one to make and fairly versatile... Find a length of chain you like ( I prefer a necklace that lays at the top of my collarbone ), clasps ( usually I use lobster claws but that's just because I find these easiest to put on ), Here I use sort of square beads but rectangular beads look good as well, some headpins, and eye pins. I started from the center of my necklace (by folding the chain in half... fool proof :D ) and then alternated with two beads and one with the next bead in the third link from the previous bead.
To create the two beads linked together you put the headpin bead (with a not closed loop at top ) through the eye of the eye pin. Close and add a bead to the eye pin trim create another non-closed loop and hook through the chain link and close.
* Note: I tried to hold the chain the same way so that all the beads were hooked onto the same side of the chain.

Is it Halloween Yet??

I figured out how to make this lovely without a formal pattern! I feel very proud, probably because I created the pattern for the wings and handy me forgot exactly how it went hmm.... Anyhow his body and head are patterned by anapaulaoli

Egyptian Necklace

After several days of various frustrating stringing attempts ( thank goodness the main beading only had to be done once ) I finally decided on memory wire.... now it only has to be trained into the right shape so it won't pop up on my neck... hence the bowl on one of the ends. I have a feeling there was an easier way to construct the necklace ( I only looked at a photo and decided I'd like to try to make it ) and as it stands since my way involved lots of crimp beads, short wires, and glue I don't think I'll attempt this kind of necklace anytime soon... :D In actuality the beads are more of an oil spill color but my camera has a funny flash and apparently was feeling grouchy with me from lack of use.. ah well
