Amigurumi

Found lots of sites I need to add to my list of sites to see and lots of simple crochet patterns, or rather what I thought the pattern was by looking at the picture. I have lots of cool ideas as seen in photos that I need to organize for Christmas; I think the only way I'll have time to make all these cool ideas is if I finish my portfolio pieces early; and start to work on these goodies in class. So many crafts so little time, some of these sites have cute free patterns of various things or link to unusual artists' blogs etc.

Some of the sites I found interesting were:

Sketchbook

I realized that I haven't really shown stuff from my sketchbook, it's required in my portfolio class, really inspiring, so I thought I'd show off some of my more interesting pages....

Gnome House

I bought a neat birdhouse, I believe at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago, I finally got around to taking its roof off; it was sort of wedged on, and got Mom to help me cut a door and odd window. I hope to paint and maybe decorate it before the Christmas party we're throwing right after Thanksgiving, or barring that by Christmas.... Gizz has gotten cold now that the weather has dropped so he is always trying to sit in our laps; while I was sanding the house down he actually captured one of my wrists with my hand, but he was so warm I didn't mind.

His fasination with my camera really amuses me, everytime I get it out he dances in front of it, wanting his picture taken; probably because I kept giving him treats for sitting still while I tried to take some photos of him one afternoon.

More pics of the gnome house from various angles, my rough plan for the various portions of the roof

Chipmunk Update

As Mom said in her last post the chipmunk was relocated to a local park, but an odd sewer gas smell invaded the basement, we even had a plumber over to see if it was something wrong with the sewer; but no luck. Many candles later, we discovered a dead chipmunk tangled in an old box of scrap yarn. We quickly got rid of both and used some baking soda and vinegar to neutralize the smells so we have our craft areas back! I've gotten lots of craft supplies for our homemade christmas; now I just have to create them all before christmas....*sighs heavily* In the second photo you can distantly see some of my books for my various classes, my newest crochet project, ( I can actually make things with my crochet now not just long strings I'm not sure how to use!!) and the box I use to collect my paper snowflakes before I hang them in the windows.

*As a side note I thought I had created quite a few snowflakes and figured that about six in each window would make them seem full and holiday-ee..... I calculated .... and to fill all my front windows I'll need at least thirty-six more.... it's a good thing that Christmas is so far away :D
