Finished

Astonishingly for me I finished all of my projects on my to-do-list... for vacation anyway.... This is the blanket & bear photo I promised, but the colors don't turn up like in real life....

Mo looking out the window

Left Gizmo at the kennel today, ;_; he wouldn't like where we're staying and would probably get covered in nasty smelly things anyway but managed to snap this on the way there....

POTTERY

Well the wait is over and we finally get to see what our pottery looks like!! The cat's Mem's, mine is in the middle and Mom's is the polka dotted vase....

Current WIP.......

Anyways I plan on finishing my blanket and mascot today..... which means lots of sewing and running around like my dog when his treat went in two different directions and he can't decide which to go after. :D Will post later *crosses fingers* with pics of the finished projects (Did I mention that when I edged my blanket we thought that nine feet would be more than enough to edge the entire blanket and imagine my suprise when it only covered one side??? & to top it off the fabric store didn't have enough ribbon to cover the rest of the blanket so we had to pick some ribbon, without the fabric to cover the last two sides....... :D it's been a busy morning)

I'm swamped

Believe it or not this is listed on my to-do-list as "on the go snack" as you can tell... I'm not on the go (my keyboard isn't wire less....which is probably a good thing 'cause I'd yell at it even more if it was..) We aren't leaving until Saturday but plan to be all packed up on Friday which means all the funness of packing is pushed to TODAY, and and I like to do packing say eight hours before we leave, so I still get enough sleep to be coherent on car zombie day but late enough I can remember everything.....hopefully :) so you can tell which house is thrown in chaos :D

Can't Believe this turned out!!

We were on one of our weekend excursions when both Mom and I saw this Swallowtail?? land on the flowers; it turned out to be a contest to see who could get their camera out and functioning before the other, and before the butterfly flew away. I was able to get mine out a split second faster but that was probably because my camera was easier to get to :D

Bear Mascot & Projects

My current WIP..... as you can tell it's coming nicely but is still taking a lot longer than I'd like. I plan on making it a sort of mascot to our trip to the cabin, I'm wondering where I'll hide it :D I'm thinking on one of the bunk beds right now..... I seem to enjoy adding more projects to work on, I have two knitting projects (one of which is in my purse :D ), and after a trip to the fabric store today I've added making a light blanket to the list. :P Mom insists its the color of Cookie Moster (you know like Sesame Street) but I think its more of a bright turquise, and unfortuantely my camera refuses to get the color right.... :D

Rabbit Softie

I've been in a softie making mood even though the pattern to this bunny looked fairly simple I was suprised when it took me several hours (this was probably due to all the tiny stitches :D ) I'm currently making a bear from the same book, it has almost the same pattern and at the moment I'm afraid it looks a bit out of proportion :D
On a side note our baby bunnies have flown the nest and now can be seen peacefully hopping about the yard, much to our dog's discontent. We've filled the nest with potting soil and I can only imagine the babies are getting rather wet with all the sudden downpours we've been having.

Pottery

I can't wait until next friday when we go pick up our pottery, I'm hoping that my octopus turns out well! For the best paint coverage you were supposed to do three layers of paint for each layer.... and I did lots of layers of dots and it got very confusing since I couldn't tell when I had done three layers, after the third hour I was just globing the paint on in thick dots hoping it would compensate for two layers. :) It'll be a busy day for us since that's our pack-up day to go on a week trip to Michigan, I plan on leaving lots of sticky notes around the house at eye level :) I'll post pics of our pieces when we get them :D

Found my Inspiration

Since it was such a nice today thank goodness (we didn't even have air conditioning on!) I went outside in a moment of boredness and found out there were lots of flowers that were blooming, and I decided to suprise the fam with some bouquets, they turned out ok including the fact I didn't have much greenery to work with... :)

New Book of Mom's

Mom just got The Cute Book this weekend and we have been looking at it ever since. All the projects seem really simple and the results are sooo cute. I can't wait until I have some free time & quality felt to try one of them. I still can't decide which one to make first!

Camp Post

As you already know we've set up a camp postal system, which is harder than we thought it would be; there were so many nit picky details to attend to, once you set up the place to put letters and stamp them, and the mail bag (which can be seen on my mom's blog) we suddenly realized you needed a place to deliver the letters so we spent yesterday evening presonalizing our own boxes (Em has hidden hers so I don't have a pic.)

Rabbit Hill

A couple weeks ago we noticed a hole in our front yard; we were a little irritated since we knew that it was probably the bunnies. Anyway after we had mown over the hole a couple times (this was about three weeks ago) my Dad noticed that there were little bunnies in it!! They are very cute and we've since let the grass grow long around the hole they seem to be venturing closer to the surface. Mom's suggested we rename our house to be Rabbit Hill after the book by Robert Lawson. My sister and I are hoping that they'll start venturing out of the hole soon ..... In the meantime the mother seems very happy to eat all our newly planted flowers in the backyard.

Lightning Bugs

This is a collage that I made after I saw this Over the Hedge comic.... can you say I was bored?? :)

RE-MENT

This is just one of the cute sets offered by the Japanese company Re-ment... unfortunately they aren't imported into the US so you have to get them from Japan and the shipping is incredible! Anyway here's the url for the japanese site which has all the sets they currently offer in Japan for you to moan over :)

Camp Stamps

Mom and I are planning on setting up a post system as part of our annual summer camp and as part of that I was deligated the role of coming out with the stamps. Both of us have been working on the stamps for three days now and we keep changing them around and finding new images to create into stamps. They're mostly Disney, Hello Kitty and clipart images but some are pictures of real life stamps we found on the internet. So far we have over 40 stamps and are planning on making more.
